CLAT 2025 : Syllabus And Exam Pattern

The consortium of NULs revised CLAT exam pattern last year although there was no change in the syllabus. We are expecting the authority to follow the same pattern in the question paper this year too. As per the new pattern, you need to attempt 120 questions instead of 150. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks on every incorrect answer. CLAT 2025 exam duration is 2 hours.

There are 5 CLAT subjects that you should prepare from CLAT syllabus 2025; they are- Current Affairs, English, Legal Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques and Logical Reasoning. Download CLAT Syllabus PDF

Considering the importance of sectional weightage, Current Affairs and legal Reasoning section covers the maximum weightage in the exam. You can expect 35 to 39 questions alone from each of this section. This is followed by English Language and Logical Reasoning that have 20% of the total weightage in the exam.

CLAT 2025 : Preparation Strategy

Allocate a minimum of 1.5 hours daily for the preparation of CLAT English Language. Divide your time as per your convenience. In addition, our subject matter experts in English recommend reading newspaper, books, and magazines to improve your reading speed, comprehension, and vocabulary.

Practice at least 3 to 4 passages daily. Read the questions carefully and answer accordingly; focusing on understanding the main idea, and identifying key points.

You should take one sectional test to assess your progress in your preparation. This will help you understand your strengths and weak areas in all the subjects, thereby, helping you adjust your preparation accordingly.

For Legal Reasoning, be thorough with legal maxims, various amendments, laws, etc. In this section, you will get hypothetical situations in a passage form and you need to answer the questions as per the legal principles. Have a good understanding of the legal concepts, and solve as many passages as possible to get familiar with the variety of cases and judgments. Check Subject-wise CLAT 2025 Preparation Strategy

CLAT 2025 Admit Card and Exam Day Guidelines

CLAT admit card will be out a few days before the exam. You can expect the admit card to be out by the last week of November 2024. It is recommended to verify your admit card details after you download it. In addition, carry your CLAT 2025 admit card, and one valid id proof to the exam center for verification of your identity.

There are certain guidelines laid out by the concerned authority. You must follow the guidelines at the exam centre to avoid the cancellation of your candidature. CLAT 2025 exam day guidelines include reaching the exam center an hour before the reporting time, carrying your relevant documents, etc.

CLAT Cut off :

There is no qualifying marks for CLAT exam. You have to qualify the cut off of the university you have applied for. The conducting body release the cut off round-wise on its official website. However, a mere qualifying the cut off will not give you a chance at any top university; our experts through an analysis of previous year’s data say that you need to get at least above 110 marks in the CLAT 2025 exam to get into top NLUs. Last year, the closing rank of NLSIU Bangalore and NLSAR Hyderabad was 97, and 158 for the General category respectively. Check CLAT Cut off, Seat Matrix and Marks vs Rank
