The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) has changed how students get into college in India. It lets students apply to many different programs all over the country. But not every college accepts CUET scores. Let’s find out which colleges do.
CUET Exam Overview
CUET, introduced in 2022, is set to become a biannual occurrence starting in 2023. It serves as the gateway to various undergraduate programs in participating universities throughout India. The exam encompasses three sections:
- Section 1: Language (English or Hindi)
- Section 2: Domain-specific subjects (Arts, Humanities, Commerce, Science, etc.)
- Section 3: General Test (quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning, and general knowledge)
Do all colleges accept CUET?
Not all colleges accept CUET. Central universities are required to accept CUET scores for admission, but state universities and private universities are not required to do so. Some state universities and private universities have announced that they will accept CUET scores for admission, while others have not.
Why don’t all colleges accept CUET?
There are a number of reasons why some colleges do not accept CUET. Some colleges may have their own entrance exams, while others may prefer to use other admission criteria, such as Class 12 board marks or extracurricular activities.
How to find out which colleges accept CUET?
To ascertain whether a specific college accepts CUET scores, the most effective method is to consult the official website of the respective institution. Additionally, you can directly contact the colleges in question to inquire about their admission criteria.
What should I do if the colleges I am interested in do not accept CUET?
If the colleges you aspire to attend do not accept CUET scores, all is not lost. You may still be eligible for admission, but you will need to adhere to their specific admission requirements. It may also be worthwhile to consider applying to colleges that do recognize CUET scores.
