The University of Delhi has taken a significant step in streamlining its admissions process by introducing the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS 2023) for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Commencing on June 14, the university has opened the official admission portal, accessible through ugadmission.uod.ac.in. This new system aims to simplify the admission procedure and provide a fair and efficient allocation of seats to aspiring students.
CSAS Eligibility and CUET Scores: To participate in the CSAS counseling process for the 2023-24 academic session, candidates must have appeared for either the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET UG 2023) or CUET PG 2023, depending on their desired program. Similar to the previous year, the University of Delhi will be granting admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate courses based on the candidates’ CUET scores. Notably, around 70 colleges affiliated with DU will consider CUET scores for admissions.
Securing a Seat in DU-Affiliated Colleges: To secure a seat in one of the prestigious DU-affiliated colleges, candidates must first register on the CSAS 2023 admission portal. Subsequently, they need to actively participate in the counseling process. This step is crucial for candidates to be considered for admission. With the university fully prepared to handle the admissions process, DU will launch separate portals for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all applicants.
Changes to ECA and Sports Quota: In a notable development, the University of Delhi has implemented new norms for candidates applying for undergraduate admissions under the extracurricular activities (ECA) and sports quota. As per the revised guidelines, colleges may now fill 20 percent of total supernumerary seats through ECA and sports quotas. This change provides additional opportunities for talented individuals with exceptional skills in extracurricular activities or sports to gain admission to DU-affiliated colleges.
