What is BCA?

BCA stands for “Bachelor of Computer Applications.” It is an undergraduate academic degree program in the field of computer applications and information technology. BCA is a popular course for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of computer science and software development.

Types of BCA.

 1. General BCA:

  • The standard BCA program covers a broad range of topics in computer applications, including programming, software development, database management, networking, and web development.

2. BCA with Specialization:

  • Some institutions may offer BCA programs with specializations or concentrations. These specializations could include areas such as:
    • Web Development: Focuses on designing and developing applications for the web.

1. Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET):

    • Conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) for admission to various programs, including BCA.
  1. Christ University BCA Entrance Exam:
    • Christ University, Bangalore, conducts its own entrance exam for admission to the BCA program.
  2. AIMA Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT):
    • All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts UGAT for admission to various undergraduate programs, including BCA.
  3. Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET):
    • Symbiosis International (Deemed University) conducts SET for admission to its various undergraduate programs, including BCA.
  4. BHU Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET):
    • Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts UET for admission to its undergraduate programs, and BCA may be one of the options.
  5. NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test):
    • While primarily for MCA admissions, some NITs may offer integrated programs (BCA + MCA), and NIMCET could be relevant.

Eligibility Criteria for BCA

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates should have completed their 10+2 education from a recognized educational board or its equivalent.
  • Qualifying Subjects:
    • The qualifying examination should have been completed in the science stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects. In some cases, universities may also accept students from the commerce or arts streams.

  • Age Limit:

9.Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD-PI):
