The CLAT exam pattern for 2024 has been revised. The total number of questions has been reduced from 150 to 120. The exam will still be conducted in offline mode for a duration of two hours. The five sections of the exam are:

  • English Language: This section will consist of 28-32 questions on English grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Current Affairs including General Knowledge: This section will consist of 28-32 questions on current affairs, including national and international news, static general knowledge, and other relevant topics.
  • Legal Reasoning: This section will consist of 28-32 questions on legal aptitude.
  • Logical Reasoning: This section will consist of 28-32 questions on logical reasoning.
  • Quantitative Techniques: This section will consist of 28-32 questions on elementary mathematics, including graphs, numerical ability, elementary statistics, and data interpretation.

Each question carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

The CLAT exam is a competitive exam, and the scores are used for admission to undergraduate law programs in participating universities.

  • The use of any electronic devices, including calculators and mobile phones, is not allowed in the exam hall.
