Delhi University (DU) is one of the most prestigious institutions in India, known for its quality education and vibrant campus life. For aspiring lawyers, DU offers two popular law pathways:

✅ 3-Year LLB (Post-Graduation in Law)
✅ 5-Year Integrated BA LL.B (Undergraduate Law Program)

Both have different eligibility criteria, entrance exams, and admission processes. Let’s explore them in detail.

1️⃣ DU 3-Year LLB Program

✅ What is it?

The 3-year LLB at Delhi University is a graduate-entry law program. It’s designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree and now wish to pursue law as a professional course.

✅ Eligibility

Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree (any stream) from a recognized university.

Minimum aggregate marks:

50% for General category

45% for OBC

40% for SC/ST

✅ How to Get Admission?

Admission to DU’s 3-year LLB is through an entrance exam.

Earlier, DU conducted its own DU LLB Entrance Test, but now it is done through the CUET-PG (Common University Entrance Test – PG).

Mode: Online (Computer-based test)

Question Type: MCQs (General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, English, Logical Reasoning)

After the entrance, DU releases a merit list, and candidates are allotted seats in one of its three law campuses:

Campus Law Centre

Law Centre-I

Law Centre-II

3 years (divided into 6 semesters)

On completion, you get an LLB Degree recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

2️⃣ DU 5-Year Integrated BA LL.B Program

✅ What is it?

The 5-year BA LL.B is an integrated law program for students who want to pursue law right after completing Class 12th. It combines an undergraduate degree (BA) with a law degree (LLB).

✅ Eligibility

Must have passed Class 12 (any stream) with at least 45% marks (General category).

Relaxation for reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST).

✅ How to Get Admission?

Admission to DU’s 5-year BA LL.B is based on the CUET-UG (Common University Entrance Test – Undergraduate).

Mode: Online (Computer-based test)

Sections: English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude

Merit list is prepared based on CUET scores, and counselling is done for seat allocation.

This program is offered in DU’s Faculty of Law, and is relatively new compared to the traditional 3-year LLB.

✅ Duration & Degree

5 years (10 semesters)

On completion, you get an Integrated BA LL.B Degree recognized by the BCI.

DU Law Admission Process (Step-by-Step)
