The Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) for admission to its prestigious five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM). IPMAT is also accepted by several other top institutes, including IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, Nirma University, Alliance University, NICMAR, and NALSAR University FOR IPMAT.
The IPMAT exam is divided into three sections:
Quantitative Ability (QA): This section tests candidates’ ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. It covers topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC): This section tests candidates’ ability to read and comprehend complex texts, as well as their ability to express themselves clearly and grammatically. It covers topics such as grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and critical thinking.
Logical Reasoning (LR): This section tests candidates’ ability to analyze information and draw logical conclusions. It covers topics such as patterns, logic puzzles, and data analysis.

The IPMAT syllabus for the year 2024 is as follows:
Section 1: Quantitative Ability (MCQ)
- Number System: Real numbers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, whole numbers, integers, prime numbers, HCF, LCM, divisibility rules, decimal representation, exponents and powers, logarithms, simplification of expressions
- Algebra: Basic algebraic concepts, equations, inequalities, quadratic equations, polynomials, sets, relations, functions, graphs
- Arithmetic: Ratio, proportion, average, percentage, profit and loss, time, speed and distance, work and wages, simple and compound interest
- Geometry: Basic concepts of geometry, lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, mensuration of 2D and 3D shapes
- Data Interpretation: Interpretation of tabular data, bar charts, pie charts, line charts
Section 2: Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Questions)
- Algebra: Complex numbers, quadratic functions, arithmetic and geometric progressions, permutation and combination, probability
- Mensuration: Mensuration of 2D and 3D shapes, volume and surface area of various shapes
- Trigonometry: Trigonometric ratios, trigonometric identities, trigonometric equations, inverse trigonometric functions
Section 3: Verbal Ability
- Reading Comprehension: Passages of varying lengths, questions based on comprehension, inference, and vocabulary
- Grammar: Subject-verb agreement, verb tenses, noun-pronoun agreement, articles, prepositions, conjunctions
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, antonyms, analogies, idioms, phrases
- Word Usage:Â Correct usage of words in context
- Para Jumble:Â Arranging jumbled sentences to form a coherent paragraph
Section 4: Logical Reasoning
